Production Team Members are responsible for the day to day, manufacturing, inspection, and packing of plastic, and chrome plated components.

Employees at this level may operate Injection Molding Presses, Simple Machines, load and unload components, pack or unpack parts and components, inspect and hand trim components, as well as keep an hourly check list of scrap and defects.

Job Description

  • This Position may require any or all the duties listed below.
  • Inspection of chrome plated and plastic automotive components for defects
  • Racking or Un-racking of components onto or off Plating Racks
  • Clipping or trimming of excess plastic or chrome plated plastic
  • Assembly of chrome pieces and lenses
  • Operation of simple machinery
  • Operation of Injection Molding Presses
  • Packing of parts into boxes and containers
  • Assembly of small clips and adhesive backings
  • Lifting of up to 60 lbs.
  • Recording and reporting of scrap and production numbers

 

Wastewater Treatment Technician

Lapeer Plating & Plastics, Inc., The Premier Manufacturer of Class A, High-Visibility Automotive Components, is seeking highly motivated, team players, possessing a continuous improvement mindset, to join our team as a Wastewater Treatment Technician.

The Wastewater Treatment Operator is to manage and control chemical and water waste at a busy chrome plating facility.

This includes the storage, safe handling, monitoring, testing, and disposal of chemicals and other hazardous waste generated in the treatment of wastewater from the production processes.

 

1 to 2 plus years of experience in wastewater management with increasing levels of responsibility required.

Requires knowledge and understanding of hazardous waste and water pollution standards and regulations.

Operate the waste treatment system including the monitoring of chemicals, maintaining filters, maintaining motors, pumps, and compressors, and operating cleaning system, gravity settler, clarifier, filter press, etc.

Clean and calibrate all pH and orp probes and meters weekly

Generate and manage all solid and liquid waste produced from the plating and wastewater treatment processes

Manage hazardous waste roll-offs

Organize and track all recyclable drums and have them removed when they accumulate

Neutralize all outdated obsolete chemicals and dispose of them

Assist with all other chemical handling requirements as directed by WWT Supervisor and Department Manager.

Make up and maintain both electronic and written logs and documentation.

Skill, Knowledge and Abilities: The possession of oral and written communication skills is required.

Physical: Body Movements: The position requires arm and hand dexterity; must be able to walk, squat, stoop, bend, and turn; and must be able to move one’s head, neck, and back.

Must be able to climb a ladder operate machinery

Must be able to lift or move up to 60 pounds.

 

Industrial Maintenance Technician

Lapeer Plating & Plastics, Inc., The Premier Manufacturer of Class A, High-Visibility Automotive Components, is seeking highly motivated, team players, possessing a continuous improvement mindset, to join our team as an Industrial Maintenance Technician.

Ideal candidates MUST Possess:

  • Previous factory maintenance experience and a good work history.
  • Knowledge of injection molding equipment, chrome electroplating, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Electrical knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of 480 VAC, 120 VAC, and 24v D.C. systems and usage on machinery and equipment
  • Previous Training in Electrical safety, Lock out / Tag out and confined space preferred
  • Must be able to read electrical and hydraulic prints
  • General repair knowledge

 

PRINCIPLE DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF THE JOB

-Knowledge of good health and safety practices, specifically Lock Out/Tag Out and any other training/certification or licensing as determined by MIOSHA and/or the Maintenance Manager.

-Ability to arc weld well enough to build, fabricate and repair racks, stands and equipment

Correct use of acetylene cutting and gas welding torch

Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Electrical knowledge as needed

Ability to run all types of piping systems

Ability to disassemble, recognize faulty parts and repair equipment

Basic knowledge of 480 VAC, 120 VAC, and 24v D.C. systems and usage on machinery and equipment

Able to run electrical conduit and pull wire for electrically powered equipment

Able to run minor electrical/hydraulic breakdowns on equipment and machinery

Understanding of gasoline powered material handling equipment for the purpose of service and repair

Proper and safe operation of support equipment

Keep good housekeeping “6S” of work area

Working knowledge of machine specific documents

Must be able to read electrical and hydraulic prints

General repair knowledge

Ability to do some building type service and repair

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager

Quality Engineer

GENERAL SUMMARY

 

Responsible to function as the Quality Engineer. To follow all TS 16949 instructions. Plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for plant processes, materials, and products. Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.

 

PRINCIPLE DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF THE JOB

Root cause analysis, implementation of corrective action for process related concerns

Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system such as 5S, Kaizen, lean methods, etc.

Develop training to build quality awareness

Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to production of new products are in accordance with approved data

Support product/process transfers from pilot to manufacturing

Provide technical support to resolve quality problems in pilot to manufacturing

Support the Quality Auditors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system

Interface with customer and supplier on establishing quality standards

Lead process risk assessment activities such a PFMEA

Support process validation activities

Communicate with customers to resolve issues / potential issues; Analyze failure, corrective /preventive action; respond to customer complaints

Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventive actions

Relay customer concerns to manufacturing floor and Engineering

Monitor customer ratings

Assist with PPAP process as needed / Gage R &R / Part layout / dimensional verification / Material performance Specs

Preparation of QA reports

Process FMEA /Control Plan / Special characteristics list input / updates

Process Instructions (Quality instruction portion)

 

AUTHORITY

Disposition Non-conforming material.

Implement process improvements/quality checks

 

EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma
  • 2-3 years in injection molding environment, or College Degree/Quality or equivalent.
  • CQT or CQE (ASQC Certification) preferred.
  • Metrology, SPC, and DOE.
  • Knowledge of GM, FCA (Chrysler) web sites
  • Good communication skills

 

2nd Shift Quality Auditor

Lapeer Plating & Plastics, Inc., The Premier Manufacturer of Class A, High-Visibility Automotive Components, is seeking highly motivated, team players, possessing a continuous improvement mindset, to join our team as Quality Control Auditors

The Quality Auditor shall provide quality support to production operations, ensuring the integrity of components and products to be shipped to our customer’s requirements. The individual will help drive quality improvements, ensure company standards are adhered to, and organizational goals for achieving “zero defect” performance.

Quality Auditors must be able to keep up with line speeds, perform repetitive motions, lifting, and identify and distinguish colors and defects, and be able to practice proper safety procedures.

Job Description

  • Packing of parts into boxes and containers
  • Grade, classify, and sort products according to specifications
  • Measure dimensions of products with rulers, gauges, calipers, and micrometers
  • Mark products accordingly to identify defects and route those products for containment
  • Visually compare color, shape, and texture of products with color chart or template.
  • Determine the causes of defects found on products
  • Complete reports, attribute charts and all related paperwork
  • Must be experienced with final and in-process inspection in the automotive finishing industry
  • Lifting of up to 60 lbs.

PLATING (PLT)

ASSEMBLY (ASM)

1ST shift:       7:00 am-3:00 pm (Mon-Fri, Sat. as needed)

MANDATORY OVERTIME

Due to high Customer demands, Team LP+P is working Mandatory Overtime.

Please be aware that your department may work 10 to 12 Hours as well as Saturday and Sunday.
